This fast-paced, exciting fusion piece reflects an emergent collaborative movement between Arabic traditional musicians and Western contemporary jazz and funk musicians, currently taking place within the Middle East and urban centers globally. NOON from Dubai, an artist on this track, is at the forefront of this evolution.

The musicians of this track, many whom hadn't met one another prior to the recording, connected together for an evening session in NYC. Some of the players hail from the United States and live within the city, and others were visiting from Dubai and Egypt amidst of a run of performances in the States. The result is an intercultural musical snapshot, written and recorded in 5 hours.

Incidentally and unintentionally, the religious heritages of the musicians ranged from Hindu, Muslim, Jewish, Catholic, and Christian. To the musicians, the song evidences the bridging force that music can be to unite peoples of all cultures and backgrounds. The song is titled ‘Origins’ to celebrate this notion.
